Training Resources

This section provides an array of materials, publications and helpful handouts to support SIDS educational programs, community based awareness projects and outreach activities. Target audiences may include public health professionals, emergency personnel, child care providers, foster parents, mortuary professionals, maternal, child health agencies/organizations and the general public. Refer to the Training section for a comprehensive listing of resources including training tips, course outlines, sample agenda/evaluation and curricula. Audio-visual support materials such as videos can be found in the Grief and Bereavement and/or Reducing the Risk section of the website. Bereavement Counseling for SIDS and Infant Mortality: Core Competencies for the Health Care Professional published by the Association of SIDS and Infant Mortality Programs (ASIP) is a 39 page handbook to equip professionals with the needed skills and knowledge to provide effective bereavement support.
