The California SIDS Program has developed a variety of useful, insightful and sensitive materials for professionals involved with SIDS. These materials are geared toward coroners, emergency personnel, first responders, law enforcement officers, nurses, public health professionals and SIDS Coordinators. Some of the resources offered are for client distribution and may be available in non-English languages. Other materials are specifically designed for professionals to augment grief/bereavement services, risk reduction outreach activities and community based educational programs. This wide array of resources covers four areas:

Crisis Support:
provides useful, one to three page crisis and bereavement handouts for assisting those who recently experienced the sudden unexpected loss of an infant.

Grief and Bereavement:
encompasses a variety of pamphlets, booklets and other informational items focusing on grief/loss issues and tools for coping with the death of an infant.

Risk Reduction:
includes pamphlets, posters, magnets, handouts, and other educational items with recommended infant care measures to promote safe sleep and reduce the risk of SIDS.

Training Resources:
consists of an array of materials, publications and helpful handouts to support SIDS educational and outreach activities.
