Your local SIDS Coordinator may have a supply of these resources in their original format. Selected materials may also be available through the California SIDS Program.       After SIDS: Facing Anniversaries, Holidays, and Special Events is a 16-page booklet for SIDS parents that discusses facing special times and events after losing a baby to SIDS, including family gatherings. English.

      Caring About Kids: Talking to Children About Death is a 16-page, illustrated booklet for parents and caregivers that gives general information on children's awareness of death, communication, developmental stages and their effects, religion, death, and funerals. It does not specifically address the death of a sibling. English.

      Crib Death is an illustrated booklet for SIDS parents whose baby has recently died. It gives general information about SIDS and emphasizes the importance of cultural ties and customs for families who are grieving. Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese and Tagalog.

      Death of an Infant Twin is a leaflet for parents and families who have lost an infant twin or a baby from a multiple birth. It addresses this unique loss with sensitivity and contains information on how parents can take care of themselves and the living baby. English.       Healing a Father's Grief is a 24-page booklet for grieving fathers that talks about typical male roles, the problems they cause in grieving, and the differences in grieving between men and women.       Helping Children Grieve is a booklet for anyone caring for a child whose baby brother or sister has died of SIDS. It is a gentle guide to helping children understand and cope with feelings of grief. English and Spanish.

      Sam's Story is a 32-page, full-color booklet for children who have lost a sibling to SIDS. It is a story of a boy and his family coping with the death of his baby brother.       When Your Baby Dies…. A Gentle Guide for Teenage Parents is a 12-page illustrated booklet for teens that includes personal stories by young parents. It is easy-to-read, with general information about SIDS, how a parent might feel, and what others can do to help. English.

    After A Child Dies  

      After A Child Dies is a 13 minute video produced by The Compassionate Friends organization in which parents, grandparents and siblings share their journey of grief and what helped them to cope with their loss.
