SIDS Coordinators


SIDS Coordinators are healthcare professionals, usually public health nurses, who provide bereavement support, case management and information and referral services to parents, families and childcare providers when there has been a presumed SIDS death. Within 24 hours of a possible SIDS death, the coroner is required to contact their local public health department. Upon being notified, the SIDS Coordinator makes contact with the family.
